Accomodation

Attendees are strongly advised to make their accomodation reservation as soon as possible as there are several active conference centers in Lille at that time of the year. A block of 50 rooms is reserved until March 30 at our partner Hotel Ascotel, located in the same building as the conference center, at a special price (see below).

The two most natural choices are to stay on campus, either at Hotel Ascotel (excellent comfort at a competitive price, ten meters away from the conference room) or in student rooms (limited comfort but incredible price), or in Lille center if you want to be closer to night life. When deciding, keep in mind that Hotel Ascotel and the conference center can be reached from Lille center by a ten-minute subway ("Métro") ride and a five-minute walk, so that the two options are not that different. If you have difficulty finding a room at these two locations, there also other hotels in Villeneuve d'Ascq.

Rooms will be available at attractive prices from hotel booking sites such as booking.com, venere.com, hotels.com, accorhotels.com etc. Lille tourist office has also a web interface to make hotel reservations.

Hotels

We have secured block of rooms in these three hotels for ECC11 participants. Block reservation expires on March 30, so please make your reservation before this date. Please follow the instructions below and specify that you are attending the Experimental Chaos and Complexity Conference. If you book at these hotels please register before so that we can confirm your participation at the conference

The Hôtel Ascotel offer is extremely competitive (a three-star hotel for the price of a two-star one) and has the advantage that after breakfast you can jump from the restaurant room to the conference hall in a few seconds.

  • Hôtel Ascotel Lille Métropole (***) (University campus, adjacent to the conference center). Our partner offers promotional prices for attendees: 74 euros for a single room (breakfast included) and 83 euros for a twin room to be shared (breakfast for two people included). A block of 50 rooms has been reserved for the conference until March 30. Please do not use the web site to make the reservation, send an email to complexe@ascotel.fr or fax to +33 3 20 91 39 28, specifying that you are attending the Experimental Chaos and Complexity Conference. Indicate whether you want a single room or a twin room to be shared with another participant. A credit card number will be required for confirmation. Please make your reservation before March 30 as a block of 50 rooms is secured until this date.
  • Hôtel de la Treille (***) (Lille Center). There are 5 rooms reserved for conference participants until March 30 at a price of 120 euros/night (breakfast included). Specify that you are attending the Experimental Chaos and Complexity Conference. The hotel is located in old town, 600 meters away from Gare Lille Flandres subway station, from which it takes 10 minutes to reach University.
  • Hôtel Brueghel (**) (Lille Center), is located near Saint Maurice church in a quiet street, 300 meters away from Gare Lille Flandres subway station. There are 20 rooms reserved for conference participants until March 30 at a price of 85 euros/night (breakfast included), specify that you are attending the Experimental Chaos and Complexity Conference.

Student rooms

We have filed a reservation for a block of 40-50 student rooms, in the student hall just near the conference center. Rooms are clean and have been rebuilt recently. All have a small kitchen, most of them have toilets and shower shared outside the room but a few ones are fully equiped.

The price is hard to beat: 16 euros/night for students, or 26 euros/night for non-students (exact prices will be known soon). Breakfast can be had at a university restaurant, for a modest additional price. On evening a 4-course meal can be taken at a university restaurant for 6.12 euros.
